X-Ambassadors are an up and coming band under the roof of Imagine Dragons. This new indie rock group came to Hofstra’s Spring Fest 2015, in which I discovered a new love for yet another band that I will invest my life in. When first hearing this band, through every song I would turn to my friends and say “I love them.” Their edgy vibe really calls for some head nods and bouncing to their beats. What else makes them unique? Their keyboard player is blind! Talk about talent.

I continued to listen to them more in depth, and I came upon listening to their song “Free and Lonely.” This song matched the age of a teenager or young adult because of the lyrics it spoke. What it basically said was “hey, stay young.”

Important lyrics include “left my life behind but I ain’t got time to look back on when I was free.” They talk about settling down and giving up your life for a new one, with a spouse, particularly. He had to move to the east to land an easier job, so the wife could get a house with a white fence. I don’t think it’s bad to get married and have kids; I can’t wait until the day where I’m ready. But that’s the thing; make sure you’re ready.

However, never stop following your dreams. I think that’s what X-Ambassadors trued to depict from the song to their listeners. All will come to place. You have time now to be free and lonely (or single) and you can do whatever you want while you’re still young. Live your life to the fullest, and then the rest will come through when you’re ready.
