Tune- In Tuesday: Christmas Songs

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

If you’re not in the holiday spirit yet, you really need to get moving! What better way to get into the holiday spirit than with some holiday music? Whether you’re celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or anything else, you should really consider some of these following songs to make you feel cheery and alive this year!

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey: I’m personally not a big fan of Mariah Carey, but this song is the exception (I’m caught blasting it at least five times a day). It is so upbeat so you can dance along while trying to belt out Carey’s high notes. Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, this tune is definitely one you can enjoy.

“It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year” by Andy Williams: This is a classic. If you’re a fan of Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, then you have definitely heard her play this song during her annual “12 Days Of Giveaway.”  This joyous tune will really make you feel like it’s the most wonderful time of the year.

“12 Pains Of Christmas” by Bob Rivers: This isn’t just for Christmas. If you listen to this comedic song, you will totally understand all these pains, given you or your family have definitely experienced at least two of them. It’s a twist on “12 Days Of Christmas,” and gives you a good laugh to an old classic.

“The Hanukkah Song” by Adam Sandler: This is not even a quality song, people are laughing in the background to his words. I think that’s what makes it great, the randomness yet hilarious words and sentences put together by a humorous actor. He’s not a singer, but you’ll definitely want to hear him keep “singing” this song.

“Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” by N’Sync: How about a boy band throwback? This song is still popular after all these years. It’s a slower song but at the same time one you can feel jolly and happy about. If you want some old school Justin Timberlake, the Christmas route is definitely a good way to go.

Happy Holidays everyone!
