Ever since I can remember I have always been something of a cosmetics junkie (and hoarder). My makeup kit is overflowing with products, some of which I haven’t used since middle school. When I buy a new product, I become attached to it. This problem has become increasingly more problematic since I decided to move across the country for school; new dilemmas have arisen like “To take my Urban Decay Naked Palette or not to take my Urban Decay Naked Palette? That is the question.” My final decision was to leave all of my high end products at home where they would not be subject to shattering/leaking/ melting on the six-hour plane ride.

Initially, I was thrilled to have more space to fill my kit up with all new products, but then the unthinkable occurred: I quit my job and was left without a steady income. Weekly trips to the Estee Lauder counter are now a thing of the past. The money I worked to save up during the summer is slowly dwindling and now I am left with the daunting task of buying (gasp!) drugstore products…

The beginning of this article is clearly full of sarcastic undertones, but it is true that spending all my money on high-end cosmetics is now a thing of the past. Fortunately for me and all my fellow makeup-addicts on a budget, affordable and high-quality makeup is no longer a dream and I will be the sacrificial lamb to test all of my frugal finds just for you!

To get things started, I will be showing a haul of some new products I found at Forever 21 this weekend. At first I was skeptical to test out makeup from a store that is mainly known for its clothing, but I am so glad that I took the plunge. Forever 21’s Love and Beauty makeup is highly underrated. Their new products come in sleek packaging reminiscent of Nars and a lot of them are under ten dollars! In the weeks to come I will be providing you all with reviews of each product along with comparisons to high-end products of the same caliber, but for now while I am still trying them out I will simply leave you with pictures to ogle.
