Don’t get to spend Thanksgiving in the comfort of your own home this year? Not to worry! Here are some ideas to keep your on-campus Thanksgiving as sweet as your pie.

Before you begin your daily festivities, watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade from under your cozy duvet. It sure beats standing in the freezing cold somewhere along 6th Avenue. Then, keep on NBC for the annual Purina Dog Show to watch the cutest pups compete for the prize.

Have a movie marathon with some Thanksgiving classics. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is a childhood favorite. If you’re the TV show type, watch the Gossip Girl Thanksgiving episodes. They’ll give you your dose of scandalous family holiday drama. If you’re a Hunger Games fan, go catch the newest release, Catching Fire (out November 21st).

Now for what you’ve all been waiting for…the feast! Thanksgiving dinner might be the most important meal of the year. Time to try out your favorite Pinterest recipes! Cook up your own turkey dinner in your dorm room kitchen. Make all of the essential sides like, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, buttery rolls, and of course the pumpkin pie. Everyone gets a free pass on turkey day, so gobble gobble! And don’t forget to Instagram your Thanksgiving yummies.

Finally, go Black Friday shopping! It’s something a girl can’t miss. Take a taxi to Roosevelt Field Mall just around the corner from Hofstra’s campus. With over 200 stores and multiple department stores you’re sure to find the best deals.

Have a happy Thanksgiving, Collegiettes!
