Affordable Christmas Gifts

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

As a busy college student, it’s really easy to get caught up with finals and work, making it difficult to make a trip to the mall and buy thoughtful gifts for all of the people we care about. If you have little to no time left and no budget to work with, here are some gifts you can make and personalize!

Mason Jar Gifts

There are endless options to personalize mason jar gifts. You can make a mini kit of practically anything and put it in a mason jar! One fun idea is a manicure in a jar! Try putting nail polish along with a nail file, clippers and cotton balls. You can also do a spa in a jar and put scrubs, masks and a lotion. Other ideas include cupcake or muffin mix. When you finish your kit, decorate the jar with a ribbon and wrap it!

Homemade Goodies

You can never go wrong with homemade fresh, warm snacks! Try baking a cake, a batch of cookies or crafting a dessert! Get festive with it by putting it in a colorful box or using colorful icing.

Photo Album/Scrapbook

These days, people hardly ever print out photos anymore since we can easily save our pictures on our phones. A cute and meaningful gift for a loved one is a mini scrapbook full of their favorite quotes, pictures and inside jokes. The person you gift it to will remember and cherish this gift forever!

Comfy Knit Sweaters

In the winter you can’t go wrong with a comfy, thick, knit sweater! Almost all major clothing stores carry knit sweaters during this time of the year.

Jewelry Dish

Jewelry dishes are cute accents to have on your vanity! Try vintage or thrift shops and pick out a unique dish that can be used for jewelry or even to simply put your keys and glasses on.

Most of these gifts can work for both the best women and men in your life! You don’t have to spend a lot of money on the gifs for the people you love to make them meaningful. No matter what you give, the special people in your life will love it!
