8 Things To Buy For Going Back To School

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

While you are preparing for back to school, I’m sure that there are a few necessities that are on your shopping list. Here are some that should be on the top of your list.

1. Tide Free and Gentle Pods

No need to worry about spilling the detergent or making a mess because these are already measured out and ready to go. Also, for those like me that have sensitive skin or who just don’t like fragrances on their clothes, there is the Free and Clear pods that don’t have the dyes and added fragrance of the regular detergent.

2. Simple Cleansing Wipes

These are my favorite cleansing wipes. They are gentle on skin and get all the dirt and gunk off my face along with makeup from the day.

3. Trader Joe’s Coconut Body Butter

This is honestly the best lotion that I have used. It is not overly fragrant and is wonderfully moisturizing. At a little over $5 a container, it does a fabulous job of relieving sunburn and handling everyday moisturizing needs. Unfortunately, this one is better purchased in a Trader Joe’s store.

4. Nature’s Valley Crunchy Granola Bars

These things are amazing and delicious. My favorite, the Oats ’n Dark Chocolate are the perfect balance between chocolaty goodness and crunchy granola. The bars are perfect for on the go and great to keep in your purse, backpack, gym bag, anything.

5. Coffee

This is one thing that helps me get through the day and adds a bit of extra energy to get me through long and busy days. While I am a big fan of my Keurig, I would prefer to be a bit more eco-friendly and my compromise is getting a regular bag of my favorite blonde roast and a reusable k-cup and I’m all set.

6. Pillow

Whew. Nothing like a great night of sleep. A new pillow can make all the difference between spending time laying in bed trying to get comfortable and actually sleeping. I don’t know about you, but I would much rather be sleeping.

7. Brita Water Filter

We all know how important it is to drink water and stay hydrated. Sometimes, we are reluctant to do so because the water tastes funny or what have you. I find this water filter to be great at getting rid of the funny taste and whatever extras might be in the water while keeping a nice amount ready for me whenever I need a refill. Of course, remembering to keep it full is important.

8. Clorox Disinfecting Wipes

Whether you are moving in and cleaning things off before making it your own or keeping things clean, these are great and super convenient. They are great for your cleaning and disinfecting needs and if you are wiping down the counter in the kitchen or the bathroom or cleaning off your phone, keyboard, or TV remote, these are super helpful. Also, for those of us that don’t want scented products, these also come in unscented.
