6 Ways To Make 2017 The Best Year Yet

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

We may be two months into 2017 already, but there is still time to make it the best year yet! Take these pieces of advice and go out and slay the new year!

1. Be positive!

There is a lot of negativity in the world right now. Always try to stay positive and be happy.

2. Surround yourself with people who want to be in your life.

You don’t need that one negative nancy from high school to still be your friend, especially considering you have nothing in common anymore anyway. It is more important to be surrounded by good friends who can make you laugh and help to relieve your stress, not add to it.

3. Save money!

Save now so you can treat yourself later! It will feel so good when you’re able to buy that cute dress you’ve been eying up later on. Try saving a certain bill like fives or ones with a certain letter that appears on each one. Seeing your money start to add up will be so rewarding.

4. Actually start pursuing your dreams.

If there is something you want to do in your life then go out and do it, today! Stop sitting back and waiting for an opportunity to fall in your lap and go and find one instead. You won’t regret it.

5. Stop caring so much about what other people think.

Although getting advice from close family and friends is always a good idea, it doesn’t matter what that one random person thinks about your decisions, looks, or anything for that matter. Everyone judges but don’t let that negativity get in the way of your happiness.

6. Travel!

Many people don’t take the time to travel anymore and they miss out on seeing so many parts of the world. Use the money you save and take a vacation for yourself to a place you have always wanted to go. Taking an opportunity to travel is so good for your soul and it’s always good to take some time to relieve stress from work or school.
