2. Traveling around Europe is pretty cheap so you can get to see even more for your money. (EasyJet and RyanAir understand the college student budget.)

3. You learn a lot about yourself in the process of being alone in a foreign country.

4. You make lifelong friends with a bond you’ll never have with any other friends.

5. You can learn a new language.

6. You can learn firsthand about other cultures.

7. Gain an appreciation for your home country.

8. It looks great on a resume and can open up for future career opportunities abroad.

9.  You might as well do it while you’re young and have the time.

10. You’ll regret it if you don’t.

Stephanie Impostato is a junior broadcast journalism major at Hofstra University with a minor in Italian. Rachel is a senior at Hofstra University where she majors in journalism with minors in fine arts photography and creative writing. The Rochester, NY native is involved in several organizations on campus including the Hofstra chapters of Ed2010 and She's the First. She is also an RA in a freshman residence hall.
