September is one of those months where it’s just beginning to turn seasons from summer to autumn. The weather can change from hot, humid and 90 degrees one day to windy, rainy, and 50 degrees the next. However, there are some wonderfully suprising days to look forward to in September despite the month’s weather awkwardness…

1. September 5th is “Be Late for Something Day”

A queen is never late; everyone else is just early. Okay, let’s be real. This is the one day running late is actually not frowned upon. Hip hip hooray!

2. September 7th is “Neither Rain nor Snow Day”

If it’s not raining nor snowing, I am assuming that it’s sunny and 75 degrees outside with a beauitful breeze? Let’s hope the weather on September 7th turns out as good as my prediction. Let’s hope Karen Smith isn’t right about the forecast.

3. September 12th is “Chocolate Milk Shake Day”

This is the one day out of the year we can all indulge in the chocolatey deliciousness of a heavenly chocolate milkshake and not feel guilty about it. I mean this is a holiday, and we must celebreate appropiately by eating lots of chocolate milkshakes!

4. September 14th is “National Cream-Filled Donut Day”

Just like with National Chocolate Milkshake Day, we must celebrate by eating lots of cream-filled donuts! Dunkin’ Donuts here we come!

5. September 18th is “National Cheeseburger Day”

Try to make it to an In-N-Out Burger on September 18th in order to truly celebrate National Cheeseburger Day to the greatest possibility.  The 18th is on a Friday. Why not make a weekend trip out to California?

6. September 19th is “International Talk Like a Pirate Day”

If Yoda can talk like a pirate, so can you matey. Argh, even good old Blackbeard spent this day refining his pirate-speaking skills. (By the way, September 19th is also the start of Oktoberfest usually too!)

7. September 20th is “National Punch Day”

A refreshing glass of fruit punch will quench a thirsty throat any September day, particularly a warm, humid one. Hopefully, September 20th will turn out to be sunny and 75 degrees so we can enjoy the chilled punch in its finest quality.

8. September 21st is “Miniature Golf Day”

Take a break from the first few weeks of school stress. It is tough getting back into the grind of going to class all day and doing work all night. Take the afternoon off from the computer screen, and go outside and play some mini golf with your friends! A great stress reliever for school of lots of laughs, and always a good time.

9. September 22nd is “Elephant Appreciation Day”

Isn’t this baby elephant playing soccer just adorable? Ah, just staring at this little cutie brings a smile to my face and makes my day that much better. Take a moment today to appreciate the beauitful strength and wonderful nature of elephants by checking out some great conservation sites, such as the WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) and the AWF (African Wildlife Foundation), in how you can contribute to the preservation of these amazing creatures.

10. September 23rd is “Dog in Politics Day”

I vote the cute puppy for president every time! That’s the wonderful nature of dogs. They are loyal companions, protectors, and fast friends enabling every poltiical situation to be a little more cooler (or cuter). If you have a dog, give him a big hug and kiss today! If not, spend some time volunteering at your local animal shelter showing your gratitude for these awesome creatures.

11. September 27th is “Crush a Can Day”

September 27th falls on a Sunday this year. At 12:00 am on Sunday, September 27th let’s all drink some Crush Orange Soda and celebrate the day then by crushing our cans. Don’t forget to recycle the crushed can!

12. September 28th is “Ask a Stupid Question Day”

Yes, on September 28th you are allowed to ask all of those questions you have been reluctant to ask because they just sound foolish in your head. No one can crictize you on this day for asking any question. So ask away, my friend, you only have 24 hours.

See, September provides more suprises than normally thought of. Enjoy the month of September with all of its crazy days and awkward weather stages for before you know it, winter will be here! (Ah!)
