Senior Week Schedule Announced!

As of 5:00pm today the seniors will be officially done with all academic requirements for the year!! This year the Commencement Committee has pulled out all the stops to make this Senior Week one to remember. Here is the official list of all of the events to look forward to… SATURDAY 1. Ring Founders Bell: 5pm at Founders 2. Senior BBQ (sponsored by PHAN/Alumni Office): 5pm, after Bell Ringing   SUNDAY 1. Scavenger Hunt in Philly: All-day affair! List released at 10am, so grab a team of up to 6 people and get hunting! 2. Haverford's Got "White Boys": Exhibit Review

        Got some time to kill after class? Procrastinating studying for finals in the next few weeks? Grab a cup of coffee at The Coop and head next door to see some White Boys. White Boys is an exhibition currently on display in the Cantor Fitzgerald Art Gallery from now until May 3rd. Curated by Hank Willis Thomas and Natasha L. Logan, the collection of pieces by 17 artists explores the idea of the white male, how it aestheticized, and what it means to be juxtaposed with other concepts of race and gender. READ MORE

Given the wild and nasty weather we’ve been having, who knows when the warm weather will come?  One thing’s certain though, as soon as that fresh spring produce starts coming in, you better grab it while you can. When spring is finally here (and here to stay), we can start to cross our fingers for some of the most delicate, delicious, and healthy vegetables of the year. Whether you’re part of a CSA, or just drop by Trader Joe’s for snacks once in a while, make sure you find a way to get a bite. NOTE: Thanks to modern technology, you can find these pretty much all year round. But this is the time of year where they will require the least growing assistance, processing, and transportation from other parts of the country....

HC Field Hockey Team Hosting Silent Auction

       This Saturday, April 6th, the Haverford College Field Hockey team will be hosting a Silent Auction! The team is fundraising to pay off their trip to Vancouver this past August and to begin planning for future trips abroad. Their trip to Vancouver was a huge success and they are hoping to have the chance to compete with other international teams in the future. The event will take place in the GIAC Multipurpose Room at 5:00pm and everyone is welcome! So come eat, mingle, and bid on some awesome prizes!! READ MORE

March 20th is the first day of spring, which means the days are getting longer, the sun is starting to shine a little brighter, and hopefully one day soon it will even start to actually feel warm. And when that day comes, it’s time to get away from your desk and get outside! After a long winter, I’m sick of having to get my cardio at the gym, ESPN News my only company on the elliptical. And I bet you are too. While keeping up with your weight training routine is always important, there are plenty of ways you can get your exercise in the outside. V-Day at Haverford College: The Vagina Monologues Review

       This past weekend brought the return of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” to the Haverford campus. Presented by Women In Action in conjunction with the V-Day movement, twenty-two women performed the provocative sequence of monologues and ensemble pieces in the DC Black Box on Saturday and Sunday night. The production opened to a packed house (with many resorting to sitting on the floor) and a spirit of excitement surrounding the annual event. With vagina cupcakes, cute T Shirts and underwear being sold at the door, these ladies were raising funds, awareness, and enthusiasm for V-Day Haverford College. READ MORE
