Meet Audrey

^ That’s Audrey.

This cool mamajama is the New CC of Her Campus Harvard. So basically (Amy and) I run the show.

I also use a lot of gifs and pronounce “gif” like “gift” without the “t”, even though that’s not how it’s supposed to be said, so if either of those things bother you then either leave or continue reading. It’s your choice, but if you dislike gifs or me then this will not be a fun read.

I’m a bad English concentrator, which basically means that I love reading, but not the books you’d think I like reading. I will not read Jane Austen. I have not read The Odyssey. Please do not make me read Gertrude Stein. And no, Jane Eyre in its totality is not a quintessential feminist text, only the first half is.

In addition to my new position at HerCampus (YAY), I am also Co-President of Club Bowling (woot), VP of Media and Retail for Harvard BGLTQ Business Society (also woot), a Publicity Chair for Pforzheimer House (best house), Editor for The Crimson, and write for Harvard College Children’s Stories.

I have been advised to share the coolest classes I have taken at Harvard, but because I have taken too many incredible classes in the last two years and reading four semesters of classes isn’t super exciting, I will list some of the most interesting class titles for your enjoyment.

  • When the Princess Saves Herself: Gender and Retold Fairy Tales

  • Black Masculinities

  • Leaning In, Hooking Up: Visions of Feminism and Femininity in the 21st Century

  • How Sweet is it to be Loved By You: Black Love and the Emotional Politics of Respect

I was also advised to share the coolest place on Harvard’s campus, but that’s counterintuitive because if I tell you the coolest place on campus then you’ll know about it and it won’t be my cool place anymore. Sorry. Get your own cool place. Okay, fine, it’s the Quad Lawn. I like reading in grass, okay?

I joined Her Campus for the community. I joined so many clubs just hoping to find people who I could bond with over common interests (aka writing and feminism and such). As CC I hope to improve our sense of community and make the club a safe space for people of all gender identities and sexualities to bond over common interests (aka writing and feminism and such).

YOU DID IT! YOU MADE IT TO THE END! YOU READ FOR SO LONG YOU FELT THAT PERHAPS AUDREY WOULD NEVER STOP AND, ALAS, YOU ARE HERE. WHAT IS YOUR REWARD?

Me eating ice cream. Was it worth it?
