Catch the Phi-ver!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Harvard chapter.

The Phis are coming, the Phis are coming!  That’s right Harvard, let’s give a warm welcome to our newest sorority, Alpha Phi!  After an overwhelming increase in the number of women rushing sororities at Harvard, the Panhellenic Council decided to invite a new sorority this year.  Campus is buzzing about our newest addition and we’re here to tell you why silver and bordeaux is undeniably the way to go.

Reasons why being an Alpha Phi is cooler than sliced bread (and just about everything else too):

  1. How momentous is to be a member of the founding class?!  Not only do they already have a space and amazing members of the national chapter that you will get to work with (seriously, they’re awesome) but you get to help shape the way you want your sorority to be.
  2. Alpha Phi has more than 150 chapters internationally. By joining, you will be acquiring a sisterhood of over 200,000.
  3. Their philanthropy includes improving women’s heart health.  When you have philanthropy events, not only will you be having an amazing time with your sisters but also working towards an amazing cause.
  4. Silver and bordeaux are seriously awesome colors…come on now.
  5. By joining a new chapter, you are investing your time and energy into leaving a legacy, something almost as rewarding as the lasting relationships you will make through this experience.

Not convinced yet?  Here’s some feedback from Phis across the nation:

“Joining Alpha Phi was definitely the best decision I made in college. As a freshman, I went off to school in a new city thousands of miles away from home. Alpha Phi gave me a home away from home, my best friends, and my favorite college memories.” -Dakotah Lindsay, USC graduate and Educational Leadership Consultant.

“Being a charter member of Alpha Phi at Stanford has been an incredible experience. I have had an intimate role in creating and defining the chapter’s presence on campus. The chance to literally influence every facet of a campus organization is rare and well worth every moment, struggle, and celebration.” -Afia Bonner, Stanford/Kappa undergraduate.

You will have the opportunity to rush Alpha Phi as well as our three other fantastic sororities, Delta Gamma, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Kappa Kappa Gamma starting this Saturday.  Get ready to go geek for greek!
