Luke Thompson: This Week’s Hampton Man Crush

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hampton U chapter.

This week for the Hampton Man Crush, we have found something foreign. If you like tea then you’ll definitely want to keep reading!

Luke Thompson is a sophomore business management major from Manchester, England. He is currently the captain of the men’s tennis team, a member of SLP, and he is also apart of the student athletic advisory committee where he is the representative for the tennis team and where he tries to improve the life of the tennis team.

Not only is Luke a hardworking student athlete but also he comes with a British accent to match! Don’t let the accent fool you though he isn’t afraid to speak his mind and be heard.

HC: Why did you choose to attend Hampton?

HMC: I didn’t find out about Hampton, Hampton found out about me. I posted a YouTube video of me playing tennis then the coach contacted me. After a few emails back and forth I was on a plane here.

HC: What is your current relationship status?

HMC: I am single.

HC: What do you think your best feature is?

HMC: People say that they like my accent, since I’ve been here that would be what people like. Back home I would say my sense of humor and I’m very outspoken if I see something I say something. I also like to help people.

HC: What is something things that you miss from back home?

HMC: I miss my mom’s home cooking and a restaurant that has spicy chicken dishes.

HC: What is a traditional food that you eat back home?

HMC: I’m half-white and half-black and my family is from the Caribbean so I eat a lot of curry, stew, and roti.

HC: Do you have a type?

HMC: No, I’ve been told I do but I don’t think I do. If you’re good looking, you’re good looking. If you’re beautiful, you’re beautiful.

HC: What’s the first thing you notice about a girl?

HMC: Eyes definitely. As soon as you make eye contact that’s the first thing that I notice.

HC: What are three characteristics of your ideal woman?

HMC: She has to be funny, definitely smart, and also she has to know where she’s from, know what she’s doing and where she’s going.

HC: Who is your woman crush?

HMC: Halle Berry

HC: What’s your definition of ideal success?

HMC: When you’re at a point in life when your completely happy with what you’re doing. When you wake up everyday excited to go and work.

HC: What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for a girl?

HMC: I gave a girl roses for Valentines Day.

HC: What’s your relationship deal breaker?

HMC: If I’m with a girl and she’s on her phone more than she interacts with me. I see it as disrespectful because I come to spend time with you and your constantly checking your phone.

HC: What’s your secret obsession?

HMC: I would have to say Star Wars; it’s not really a secret though.
