I know you all are scrambling to get that body right just in time for Spring Break. It’s definitely not too late. Here are a few diy hacks that’ll have your skin radiating in no time!

  1. Vanilla Coconut Shaving Cream:

Say goodbye to pesky razor-bumps and Hello to smoothness! First you’ll need: 1 cup coconut oil and lastly, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. In a large mixing bowl, whip the coconut oil on high for 5 minutes. Add the vanilla to the coconut and whip until well combined. Place the mixture into a (preferably airtight) container.  At the end of your shower apply your coconut cream on your body and shave as per normal. You can wipe your razor on a damp wash cloth or rinse in a small bowl of hot water with a teaspoon of dish soap in it… and VUALA!

  1. Banana and Honey Face Mask

This face mask works wonders for oily and acne prone skin without forming those unappealing scars. Banana has antioxidants and potassium along with other nutrients that combat acne and remove excess oiliness from your skins pores. Honey moisturizes the skin and when mixed with cinnamon helps to reduce dark spots and scars. Start by mashing 1/2 a ripe banana in a bowl and add 2 tablespoons of raw honey along with 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Stir thoroughly and spread it on your freshly cleansed face and neck. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes and wash with lukewarm water followed with cold water .Repeat regularly for best result.

  1. Avocado and Coconut Hair Mask

Between the beach, the hot weather and salt water, your hair might need some extra TLC after this spring break. It’s important to coat your hair with the right oils. Avocado and coconut leaves your hair soft and moisturized. You’ll need 1/2 avocado and 3 tablespoons of coconut oil. Either mix ingredients in a bowl or blend them in a food processor or blender of your choice.  Hop in the shower to wet your hair quickly and then gently towel dry so that your hair is damp before you apply the mask. It’s best to separate your hair into sections depending on how long and thick it is. Coat each section of your hair thoroughly down to the tips. Let it soak in for about 30 minutes or so. Rinse out and then wash your hair as normal. I would recommend rinsing it twice, just to make sure there isn’t an oily residue left over.

  1. Fruit Infused Detox Water:

There’s nothing like feeling good (on the inside) and looking good. It’s important to stay hydrated on your trip so spice your water up with some fruit. Not only do these add-ins taste fantastic, they have properties that benefit your body. Here are a few ideas!

  • Raspberry (or strawberry) lemon – any berry paired with lemon ends up with a light lemonade flavor!

  • Watermelon mint – super refreshing!

  • Tropical (mango pineapple) – this one comes out sweeter than the others, but in a totally good way!

  • Citrus cucumber (lemon, lime, orange, cucumber)

  • Other fruits to try: apples, honeydew, cantalope, blueberries, blackberries, peaches

Add your desired fruits to a pitcher and then fill with water. Allow fruit to soak for 2-8 hours in the fridge and then enjoy! You can add as much or as little fruit as you’d prefer. Add more fruit for more flavor and sweetness for your waters. Enjoy!
