Athlete of the Week: Morgan Crawford

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hampton U chapter.

This week’s Athlete of the week goes to the wonderful Morgan Crawford! She is a Junior Marketing major from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Morgan is a spontaneous person who loves to play any type of sports and enjoys working out and keeping her body healthy and in shape. She plays for the amazing Hampton Softball team and plays 3rd base, the “Hot Corner”.

HC: Who is your favorite song artist?

MC: I love Fabulous because of his music and his style.

HC: What is your biggest fear?

MC: My biggest fears are clowns and horses.

HC: How long have you been playing softball?

Morgan: I have been playing softball for about 12 years now.

HC: Did you plan to play softball at Hampton University?

MC: No, I didn’t plan to play at Hampton. The coach I committed to left the school I planned to go. He came to Hampton University to coach so I followed him to Hampton.

HC: What is your position on the Hampton Softball team?

MC: I play 3rd base.

HC: Would you ever wanted to become a professional softball player?

MC: No, I would never play professional softball.

HC: How do you juggle school, practice, games, and a social life?

MC: I have really good time management. I plan my day out for everything I need to do that day so I would not miss anything I need to do important. I do this everyday so I will not get confused on the task I need to do for the day.

HC: How well do you handle stress?

MC: I believe I handle stress and stressful situations well. My saying is “that you can’t fold under pressure.”

HC: What is your favorite saying?

MC: My favorite quote is, “audience of one.” Meaning that God can only judge me and no one else can.

HC: What single event that is going on in the world concerns you the most?

MC: What concerns me the most in the world is all the racism and hate going all in the world. I wish people will all just come together, get along and find solutions to these main problems. Nobody should get judged or hated because of the color of their skin, identity, religion, or even just being a human being.
