Loving Loafers for the SpringBy March 26, 2012 - 8:18pm Way back in November, in an article written by yours truly entitled “The Perfect Traveling Outfit” I expressed my need for the newest trend in footwear – loafers. Though it’s been a couple months, I am still obsessed with this shoe. While ballet flats seems stale and sometimes less than flattering to me, the loafer with it’s almond-shaped toe and higher tongue makes feet look sleek. As someone who personally suffers from narrow feet, I have finally found a style that accentuates the slenderness of my feet and I love them. For the fall, the look was all about velvet, however, this spring velvet’s out and (p)leather or other materials are in.... |

Why Chris Brown Shouldn’t Have Performed at the GrammysBy February 29, 2012 - 5:43pm I’m not sure when the Grammy’s became the official sponsor of domestic violence, but it might have been around three years ago when Chris Brown sent Rihanna to the hospital the night before the 2009 show. Somehow, in just three years time, Chris Brown has been ushered back into the media’s good graces like a prodigal son returning to feast. After 2 short years of being blacklisted from the Grammys, Chris Brown performed not once but twice this year. Is this some kind of twisted anniversary celebration? READ MORE |

What's Love Got To Do With It?By February 12, 2012 - 11:48am It’s happening; the red hearts are caving in on us. Your pharmacy has been converted into cupid’s bedroom, store windows are tinted pink, restaurants are flaunting their “couple’s” menus, and it’s become nearly impossible to go about your day without the nagging reminder that Saint Valentine lurks among us. This is not to say that we’re all cynical love-haters, (nor are we nauseated by the sight of chocolates and roses); but the pressure of this ubiquitous holiday can cause both women AND men – both single AND taken – to yearn for the simpler days. You all know what I’m talking about: READ MORE |

A New Semester: a Newer YouBy February 11, 2012 - 10:39am It’s a new year, a new semester, and a chance to be a “new you.” Now that we are just about a month into 2012, how are those new years resolutions going? My guess is that you probably gave up your goal to go to the gym 5 days a week and to lose those 6 pounds by now. I certainly believe that everyone has the ability to make a goal and to stick to it, but it takes more than a new years resolution to get people to drastically change themselves, their lifestyles, and their cravings for pizza and triple layer chocolate cake. So now that February is just around the corner and many of us have forgotten our new years goals, let’s revisit some realistic ways that we can improve ourselves other than losing X amount of pounds in Y amount of visits to the gym.... |
