How to Support Your Younger Sibling at Their High School Graduation

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Guelph chapter.

1. Offer to be their photographer

Graduations are definitely the time to take photographs, and what better way to support your younger sibling at their high school graduation than to be their personal photographer? Transforming into an avid shutterbug for the evening will give you the opportunity to kindly record the magical graduation night for them in photos.

2. Tell them they look nice

Complimenting your younger sibling on their entire appearance or various aspects of it (such as their hair, makeup, shoes or clothes) is definitely a really sweet thing to do before they graduate. This confidence-boosting compliment may also be especially helpful if your sibling happens to be the valedictorian of their graduating class!

3. Get them a small gift

It does not have to be grand or expensive, but a small reminder of your affection for them shows just how much you care, and how proud you are.

4. Give them a big hug (if they don’t mind) after it’s over

Finally, giving your younger sibling a big bear hug once the night ends is definitely a wonderful way to let them know that you support them and are very happy for them.
