Fall Into Fall Fashion....The Right Way
In Atlanta the fall season is far from being stable. You wake up one day and the highest temperature of the day is 40 degrees the next day the high is 78. You never know what to wear or how you should coordinate your outfits for the week. I'm pretty sure this happens to many other residents in different states and cities but for some reason here in Atlanta at Georgia State you tend to notice people's outfits. This probably being because Atlanta is one of the fashion capitols in the U.S. But if this is so why oh why do we see so many "Girl-Do-Better" outfits on campus. I understand not everyone has the financial means to keep up with the hottest items of the season, so I have put together a couple of Must Have pieces and that you can find in your closet or at an affordable price, along with telling you what you Must NOT wear.
1. Shorts and boots

On campus this semester I have been seeing A LOT of this new trend which really began making its appearance in 2009. Just today alone I saw a girl wearing denim jeans and some really cute boots.. yet... she had bare legs and a short sleeve top. It is the mid-beginning of November. I need not say that it is far from 80 degrees outside. If you want to get a little more wear out of those cute little denim shorts you bought this summer grab a paire of opaque stockings and wear them up under your shorts and pair it with some really cute leather boots. ( Preferably the army/combat style boots or even some cute booties or those vintage looking oxfords) But make sure instead of wearing a summery short sleeve top you pair it with a nice warm long sleeve fall top. Maybe a cardigan, or an oversized sweat shirt, or a blazer, but just make sure you wear something fall-appropriate.
2. Sundresses
All right ladies, we all know we bought loads of cute sundresses this summer and we don't want to see them go to waste. So what is one way we can get away with wearing them? TIGHTS and LEGGINGS! Yes! We can now get a few more weeks wear out of those cute things. When pairing your dress with tights or leggings don't be afraid to be a little different or funky pull one of the colors out of the pattern on the dress and play off of that. Make sure you also cover up those arms in this nippy weather. Find a few long sleeve v-neck or crew neck or even turtle neck shirts to wear under your dresses or even a nice cardigan, button down sweater, over size sweater, cover up, or blazer to wear on top of the dress to protect you from the downtown winds.
So we all remember when Forever XXI had a really good sale on some REALLY cute screen tees over the summer and before spring break right... Well we don't necessarily have to get rid of them since it's getting cold. There is a way to recycle that tee and make it look as if its brand new. The answer to our small dilemma are two different articles of clothing blazers and cardigans. YES! those cover-ups are the answers to our problems. Try pairing your favorite screen tee with a navy blue or black blazer and a pair of dark wash jeans and some killer heels and you have an outfit that will surely get positive attention on Plaza day.
