Why You Should Take an Exercise Class with a Friend

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Gonzaga chapter.

When it came time to register for spring classes a few months ago, one of my roommates was pushing me to take a 1 credit aerobics class with her even though I was already registered for yoga — again. Although I was initially hesitant, I took the plunge, dropped my yoga class and signed up for aerobics with my roommate (also one of my closest friends). Now two weeks into the class, I love it! So here are a few reasons why you should take an exercise class with a friend.

It allows you to hold each other accoutable

Meaning, force each other not to skip class.

You can motivate each other

“Just think about the bikini body you’ll have!”

You have something to mutually complain about

Sore muscles anyone?

You can revel in your victories together

“Hey I think I’m starting to get abs!”

And struggle together

One word. Burpees.

Exercise classes are more fun with people you actually know

Because good company is always appreciated.
