Whenever fall comes around my skin starts to act dumb. It’s dry in some place, oily in others. Plus, with the changing of the seasons it becomes a bit harder to maintain a regimen that will keep your skin looking nice and glow all day. Here are our best tips for keeping out skin healthy throughout the fall!

Take off your makeup at night. I am soooo guilty of never doing this and when I wake up my skin lets me know how pissed off it is. The oils from your makeup, plus dirt and other gunk get trapped in your skin and seeps into your pores. Even if you don’t wash it off, using remover wipes make a huge difference than sleeping in it.

Using SPF Everyday. We all know how the sun leaves no survivors in the ‘Boro. Using sunscreen will help prevent wrinkles and dark spots. If you like to wear makeup, invest in a foundation that includes spf.

Stay Hydrated! Drinking water is one of the best ways to keep you skin healthy! When your skin is dehydrated, it overproduces oils which leads to clogged pores, which leads to more breakouts, when the leads to you freaking out!

Showering after working out. You might think “people don’t shower after working out?”, but yeah it happens. Maybe you’re running late for class after a great workout, and don’t have the time. Invest in baby wipes before you change and get that gunk off of you! All the sweat will clog your pores, give you greasy skin, and body acne.

Limiting sugar intake.  I don’t care if Starbucks just released a new Frappuccino, or whatever (I care a little), too much sugar will lead to more breakouts. Of course, you should treat yourself, but moderation is key.

Manage your stress levels. Our skin shows when we’re waaaaayyyy to stressed and can’t handle something, even if we think we can. Take care of yourself and try meditating, journaling, or just chilling out.

Clean your products regularly. That means your glasses, makeup brushes, and even your sell phone! Bacteria can easily grow on these this since they are in constant contact with our skin. Wash your brushes with some warm water, olive oil (to keep them soft), and some nourishing dish soap. Use rubbing alcohol on your glasses and phone.

Let your skin breath. Once a week, or even over the weekend go without the makeup and let your natural skin shine. Still use that SPF, though!

Wash your hands before washing your face. Your hands are dirty, so wash that dirt off before you go to clean you face or you’ll just be wasting time.

Limiting Dairy Consumption. I love an extra cheese, cheese pizza, but all that dairy will mess your hormones. Animals are fed with hormones in their food, which means when your consume it will throw off your own natural hormones, like when your own your period.
