Where to Shop Your Favorite TV Shows

The Mindy Project

This super fun show is my current fashion inspiration.  Mindy’s wardrobe is eclectic but always put together, mixing bright patterns to create a stylish but distinctive look.  On the show, she wears everything from $4000 dresses to scrubs, but most of the character’s clothes are actually pretty affordable.

Scandal

Who doesn’t love Olivia Pope and her wardrobe of perfectly subtle pieces?  Luckily, The Limited recently released an extremely accurate Scandal-inspired collection.  While most of these clothes are pretty professional, the white coats and peplum blazers are both fashionable and functional.

Gossip Girl

Although this show ended years ago, many of us are just recently discovering it on Netflix.  With six seasons of NYC fashion, Gossip Girl is a gold mine of adorable items.  For the more adventurous, there are entire websites dedicated to Serena’s insane cutout dresses.  The rest of us can shop here for Blair’s many gowns and Georgina’s giant necklaces.

New Girl

Jess Day is a teacher, so her outfits are generally cute and pretty modest, with lots of dresses to wear to class or out into the city.  These include bright colors and simple patterns, complete with quirky bows and vintage-inspired shoes.

How to Get Away with Murder

This new show gets more dramatic and fun every week, and the big cast wears a lot of great outfits.  If you’re interning this semester (or, of course, if you’re actually a law student) Annalise’s structured dresses and her students’ more casual look will work perfectly for you.

Doctor Who

While there is typically a lot of weird fashion on this show, Clara Oswald always looks great.  She dresses the way most of us do every day, but with a bit of a mod twist—lots of collared shirts under sweaters and A-line dresses.  There are also some great standouts, like the flapper dress she wore recently.
