October Events in Georgetown

October is a great month to take advantage of various events being held in and around Georgetown. Here are a few events you should not miss!

1. Dean and Deluca Pumpkin Carving

Saturday Dean and Deluca will host a Halloween event on their outdoor patio for $10 per person. At the event, there will be a pumpkin carving station, caramel apple dipping station and a trick or treat swag bag.

2. Trick or Treating on Embassy Row

 If you are a Georgetown student, this is something not to miss! Grab a group of friends and take the GUTS bus to the Dupont stop. Make sure to get there before 4:00 to take advantage of this DC event!

3. Drag Queen Race

The DC Drag Queen Race is a very unique DC Halloween event. Come out on October 30th at 9:00 to Dupont Circle to watch costumed drag queens show off their elaborate outfits and race down 17th Street. The informal block party lasts a few hours and attracts a diverse crowd.

4. Nightmare on M Street

Take advantage of Georgetown’s largest roaming costume party by purchasing a ticket for the 13th annual Nightmare on M Street. The event will begin at 5pm on Saturday, October 27th and will continue through the night until 1am. For $20 you will enjoy Halloween food and drink specials and avoid paying cover all night! There will also be a costume contest at McFaddens. Participating venues include: BlackFinn – Bread ‘n’ Brew – James Hoban’s – Mackey’s – Madhatter – McFadden’s – Ozio – Public Bar – Rumors – Mighty Pint – The Front Page – The Exchange – Elephant & Castle – Sign of the Whale – Black Rooster Pub – Dirty Martini – Fiesta Lounge – Midtown – Buffalo Billiards – Cafe Citron – Panache – The Bottom Line – Irish Whiskey.

5. Cupcake Tour

On Sunday, October 28th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., learn about Georgetown’s history while enjoying cupcakes from the three notorious cupcake bakeries of Georgetown. The Tour will begin at Dumbarton House (2715 Q Street, NW) and make stops at Baked & Wired, Sprinkles and Georgetown Cupcake. 6. Free Yoga at Lululemon

If you are feeling like your sweet tooth got the best of you this month, head over to Lululemon to get back in shape! Every Sunday, Lululemon offers free yoga classes, open to all levels of experience. No need to bring your own mat or RSVP, just show up!
