True Life: I’m Buzzed Off Buzzfeed

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at George Mason University chapter.

I’m not saying I’ve gained more knowledge viewing Buzzfeed these past few months than I have during my past two and a half years at college, but I’m also not not  saying that.  Who are the people creating these posts?  And how do they find this stuff?!  They have some professional research skills—I know that much.  While interning last week, I was asked to research parrot trainers.  I was thrilled when I was complimented on my parrot-trainer-finding-skills.  Let me tell you, finding a decent parrot trainer is not easy (and in case you were wondering, if you’re a professional parrot trainer, you are not normal).  The Buzzfeed staff must have to do some extreme research to discover their ridiculously funny posts, and then they must be just plain funny for captioning in such a real way.  Clearly, my secret dream is to be a Buzzfeed staff member or to marry one…

Anyways, my friends may have asked, “You’re on Buzzfeed again?” one too many times, but hey, they don’t complain after hysterically laughing at my latest Buzzfeed find.  I’ll share my five of my favorite posts with you, and yes, it was very hard to limit myself to only five.

“10 Embarrassing (But Highly Entertaining) Videos Of People Working Out In The ’80s”

No, but seriously, these videos are the funniest things I have ever seen…ever.  I have watched them at least five times each, and I was near tears during the first viewing.

“Is “Quit Playing Games With My Heart” The Gayest Music Video Of All Time?”

I mean, we always wondered about The Backstreet Boys, but this kind of confirms it. The captions truly make this post, though.

“The 50 Most Romantic Things That Ever Happened”

If this doesn’t make you fall in love with Buzzfeed (or have a sudden urge to find your soul mate), you have no heart.

“The 30 Most Hilarious Autocorrect Struggles Ever”

I’m a sucker for autocorrect fails, so of course the best autocorrect struggles gathered into one place is my personal dream come true.  I had to take breaks from reading these because my stomach hurt from laughing too hard.

“The 23 Best Ways To Handle A Text From A Random Number”

Clearly, people having problems with texting has only benefitted me.  Now if only a random number could text me, so I can have my fun.

I don’t recommend surfing buzzfeed in class for a few reasons (one being you might be called out for laughing), but you also might learn a whole lot more, trust me.
