De Clieu Coffee, an Energized Place to Study

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at George Mason University chapter.

Calling all coffee lovers and breakfast enthusiasts, I have found the place perfect study place for you! With finals looming in the near distance, sometimes the second floor of the Johnson Center won’t cut it, and we all know the pods in Fenwick are going to be equivalent to the Hunger Games.

De Clieu Coffee and Sandwiches is located in the heart of Old Town Fairfax, and a short five minute drive from campus! They serve a wide array of unique drinks, sandwiches, and pastries. My personal favorites are the Dirty Chai Latte’s, Carrot Cake Muffins, and Orange Mocha Gelatoccino, a blended gelato drink.

De Clieu is known for supporting local roasters who produce excellent coffee, while maintaining a small carbon footprint. Their beans produce intense fruit flavors with subtle chocolate notes.

The actual set up of the coffee shop is great for studying, with small tables set up near windows that look down onto Main Street, and the coffee shop provides free wifi.

With the delicious food, vibrant coffee, and unique setting, De Clieu is definitely a location that Patriots should keep on their radar for finals studying!

I am a sophomore at George Mason, studying Communications with a concentration in journalism. My main campus involvements include being a sister of Alpha Omicron Pi International sorority, Mason Ambassadors, and contributing to both Mason Cable News and The Fourth Estate as a reporter. I hold a current internship in the Admissions Office, working specifically for the Washington Scholars Program. After interning for the Washington Journalism and Media Conference this past summer, I realized that journalism was absolutely what I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing. I'm excited for my time at George Mason and to continue adventuring the DC area! You can catch me at Starbucks.
