Here are seven of the scariest movies on Netflix that you didn’t know existed, but you’ll be glad you watched.

1. “Hush” (2016)

This suspenseful flick about a deaf woman being terrorized in her home by a mysterious man in a mask is especially creepy because it’s pretty silent for the most part. No annoyingly loud jump-scares, the horror of isolation. Plus, masks pretty much make everything 10x scarier.

2. “Holidays” (2016)

This anthology movie is great because it’s a combination of eight horror tales centering around the different holidays. Some of the shorts are funny, but some are actually pretty disturbing and definitely one of the most creative horror movies released in a while.

3. “It Follows” (2014)

Not a lot of people have seen this movie for some reason, but it’s really scary and a very new concept. You won’t necessarily know what’s going on the whole time, but it’s basically about a supernatural force that is passed between teens through sexual encounters.

4. “The Invitation” (2015)

It’s not your typical monster or ghost movie. In this horror flick, it’s people at a dinner party that are the scary ones. This tense and character-building horror is a little slow, but worth the watch.Via Rotten Tomatoes

5. “They Look Like People” (2015)

When a man begins to think that people around him are turning into demons, chaos ensues. This chilling movie will make you paranoid for the next week.

6. “Creep” (2014)

Even though the found footage-style horror films are getting a little old, this movie is new and frightening. A dying man wants to make a video for his unborn child and puts out an ad on Craigslist for someone to help him make it. It doesn’t go well.

7. “The Houses October Built” (2014)

In this found footage movie, a group of friends take a road trip to find authentic haunted houses. What could go wrong? It’s a mysteriously fun watch and you’ll be suspicious of going to any haunted house attractions after you see this.

Now all you horror junkies have something else on Netflix to watch besides “The Babadook” and “Insidious” for the hundredth time.
