New season, new nails! The simplest way to update your look for fall is a fresh manicure. It’s all about keeping it classic, but with a twist. Check out these hot hues, and start the season right!

Dark & Dangerous

Match your nails to the gloomy weather outside. Dark earth tones are a trendy and bewitching alternative to black. Burgundy reds, shadowy blues, emerald greens, and midnight purples are just a few ideas. If you’re not a fan of dark colors, try accenting your nails with dark tips with a neutral base color.

Essie – Carry On (a deep romantic burgundy) $8

Metallic Mayhem

Metallic nail colors go well with everything. No matter the season, they’re always a must. There’s more to metallic colors than the obvious choices. Think lavender, mossy green, light gold, and grey. The most unique colors you can imagine will be transformed into metallics for the fall season.

Zoya – Noel (a green/blue foil) $8

Gleaming Glitter

For that shimmery effect, use glitter! Whether you decide to cover your nails in glitter, do a light dusting, or accent one fingernail, you can never go wrong. There are numerous sizes and colors of glitter to choose from. Try going with multi-sized glitter specks. They produce a holographic looking affect on your nails, for the modern twist. Try picking sparkles that will match your current nail polish color.

Ciate – Snow Globe (different sized specks of light catching colors) $9

Marvelous Mattes

Shiny nails give a fresh feeling. But matte colors present a more modern look, as well. For that edgy, yet sophisticated, look, try investing in a matte topcoat. Sweep a coat of matte polish over your dark lacquer. Many nail lines also offer matte polishes that you can purchase. If you’re not sure about the matte, look opt for a mattifier.

OPI – Matte Top Coat $9

Naturally Neutral

Whether they’re warm or cool neutrals, your nails will sport a chic look. Neutral colors, which match in color to your skin tone, make your hands appear elongated. This look is in all year long, so invest in your favorite colors. For this season in particular, light creamy colors like grey, blues, browns, and greens are a must.  Neutrals also go well with darker hues as an accent color.

Butter London – Cream Tea (a light off white) $15

The next time you decide to paint your nails, make sure to keep these 5 trends in mind. You’ll be ready for the changing season in no time!
