As someone who is a recent veteran of studying abroad, I can honestly say it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Of course you want to study abroad, but the first question is where: and I’m here to tell you the beautiful, bustling city of Milan is the perfect place. Here’s a list of three reasons why Milan rocks!

Weekend & Day Trips

Milan is a perfect home base to jet off anywhere in Europe. Nestled in northern Italy, it is easily accessible to visit Germany or Switzerland. With the presence of Italy’s high-speed trains, any of your Italian cities such as Rome and Florence are just a short train ride away—and makes for a great a weekend get-away! The program includes trips to destinations in Italy like Turin, Lake Como, Pavia, and the Stresa Islands. In these various locations you’ll get to see how regions of Italy differ and be emersed in a vibrant culture!

The Food

Italy is home to all things delicious! If you’re a coffee addict – perfect! No one does cappuccinos like the Italians! Ice cream lovers get ready to have your world rocked by Italy’s world famous gelato! And say goodbye to your usual Dominos and Pizza Hut because your life will be forever changed by Italian pizza. Need I say more?

Pefect Place For Your Area of Study

Studying art? Milan houses the world famous Last Supper by Michelangelo. Studying history? Italy’s past is filled with rich architecture and culture, while her cities are littered with buildings and museums that date back centuries. Studying fashion? What better place to study than in the fashion capital of the world. Whatever you are interested in—Milan has something to offer!

Ultimately, you will walk away from your study abroad experience with a newfound knowledge of a different culture and leave with a worldly perspective. In your program, you’ll have the opportunity to bond with your GMU colleagues, meet new people and come back with newfound friendships! Milan is the ideal study abroad location and is perfect for anyone! Don’t forget to check out the CGE website and plan your study abroad trip today! If not now, then when?
