10 Articles of Clothing that are MUST HAVES in My 2018 Wardrobe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Geneseo chapter.

The further I delved into 2018, the more I began to realize that my old wardrobe just wasn’t saying what I wanted it to say about me anymore.  So I decided to do what I do best: go on an online shopping spree!  As a broke college student I obviously couldn’t afford to splurge on all of these items, but seeing as I found so many cute and affordable pieces I thought I’d throw together a list of my 2018 wardrobe must haves!

1) Ponte Knit Skater Dress from ModCloth // $59.00

My god, I have a dress from Modcloth JUST like this and I still want this one too.  Total Zooey Deschanel vibes.

2) Barbie Ringer Tee from Forever21 // $14.90

Be who you wanna be! B-A-R-B-I-E Barbie girl!  I can’t explain why college revived my love and idolatry of Barbie.  Maybe it’s because she’s had 345,689 careers and I’m hoping for a shot at just one.  Goals.

3) Lettuce Edge Off-Shoulder Crop Top from Garage // $16.95

Get the crop top every it-girl on Tumblr will be sporting this summer.  The lettuce edges totally remind me of the details on every single shirt I had growing up in the early 2000s.

4) Floral Gingham Dress from Forever21 // $14.90

This is the cutest dress ever, and I strongly feel that Lana Del Rey would wear it.  Pair it with some cat-eye sunglasses and a hellcat attitude and you’re SET.

5) Pleated Midi Skirt from The Gap // $49.00

Short skirts are always in style, but we often forget the pure elegance of longer lengths!  The color will make you stand out in a crowd, but it’s so pretty no one will care one way or another.

6) Blush Wired Notch Open-Back Skater Dress from Charlotte Russe // $20.00

Wearing dresses like this is the perfect way to trick people into thinking that you’re super sweet.  It’ll distract them while you slip a 20 from their wallet.

7) Wrap Sweater from J Crew // $50.99

Sometimes you’re in the mood to feel like a NYC ballet dancer.  I just so happen to always be in that mood.

8) Blissful Blooms 2 Piece from BonneChanceCollections // $29.99

This indie dress company makes the most adorable vintage-inspired dresses!  I own a couple, and they’re all really great quality and super unique!  I promise if you shop at Bonne Chance, you’ll never be on a segment of “Bitch Stole My Look”.

9) Velvet Long Sleeve Dress from Target // $17.48

Velvet is definitely a 2018 trend, but honestly I don’t think it should have ever died.  I feel like this dress would be a perfect tribute to Prince.  Make him proud.

10) Make it Fair Gingham Pants from NastyGal // $24.00

I hope that if I bought these I would instantly manifest into Audrey Hepburn.  We all can dream.

While I love all of these items my wallet probably won’t be very happy with me…
