We live in a world where, as women, we are fighting for our voice. We live in a world where our bodies are being called “hosts,” where in some states we need to have permission from a man to have a child. What is happening to the United States? How did we as a country take three steps back? In the eyes of a woman, being called a “host” is belittling to the core. Do we not have the rights to our own bodies, have we ever had rights as a woman?  This question has been asked thousands of times in history, in different centuries all over the world. When looking back in history, we find women who have put their lives on the line for us, who starved in jail, who were force fed and arrested because they wanted human rights. The women of the future…are we becoming decent people? Are women who decided to have children raising them with the proper respect for human rights? We have been taught through history and in recent news that women are not equal to men. Why? Do we not go through life looking for a man, asking a man to do something or listening to them rule our country or even when we decide to marry — a man usually gives you away. We as women have to look at the bigger picture, we have to look at our lives and how we are representing ourselves. When men call a woman a host, they are implying that we are merely walking procreators. Women need to stand united and fight for our bodies and identities.

Abortion. Justin Humphrey has his own views on the issue. He believes that men should have a say. The women seeking the abortion would have to tell the doctor the father’s name. The women would then have to ask the father to sign off on the abortion. The father has the right to a DNA test and the mother would be granted an abortion if: her life is in danger, rape or incest. How can someone tell a woman that you are nothing more than a body made to reproduce? What has happened to HIPA? How can an individual make a call to repress living human rights and a person’s decision on life? As women, WHY are we standing for this? We live in a world where political issues are all around us, we live in a society that is following concepts that we’ve practiced in the early 1900s. We idolize people and items that represent part of ourselves, yet we forget to understand how they are affecting us. When will women stop being demoralized for their actions and decisions. Why should a man have the right to control us more than they already do? “It’s a man’s world” — we have heard it millions of times and being called a “host,” just represents how true it really is.
