Steamy Movies to Watch with Your Significant Other

Here are a few Netflix and Chill suggestions that are hard to forget. Also, for those of you who don’t have a significant other, you should still watch these awesome movies.

In Your Eyes – sweet steamy

To sum it up: In Your Eyes is a beautifully written love story about two strangers who discover that they can feel and see everything the other is experiencing despite living across the country from each other. It’s funny, witty, sweet, and was written by Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly). If you’re worried that it might be too sappy, I’ll remind you that it makes the steamy list and mention that there is a car chase.

Why it’s steamy: Due to the sci-fi-esque connection they have, this film contains one of the most unique and intimate sex scenes I’ve ever seen.

Angels of Sex – hot steamy

To sum it up: Bruno, a student, and Carla, a photographer, are madly in love. Enter Rai, a spontaneous karate teacher/ break-dancer, and things get complicated. I’ve never quite seen anything like this film, and that’s why it holds such cinematic power. It’s beautiful, gripping, and both subtly and blatantly sexy.

Why it’s steamy: I’ll give you a hint. There are three naked people on the movie poster. It is titled Angels of Sex. What more do you want from me?

True Romance – violent steamy

To sum it up: Clarence (Christian Slater) is a comic book nerd and Alabama (Patricia Arquette) is a hooker. They fall madly in love, but there are quite a few obstacles in the way of that love – a violent pimp, a suitcase full of cocaine, the mob… you get the picture. Still, the passion is as real as the violence, and what else would you expect? Quentin Tarantino wrote the screenplay.

Why it’s steamy: Phone booth sex scene. That about sums it up.

Adventureland – angsty steamy

To sum it up: A group of aimless youths find themselves working at a crummy amusement park during the summer. Among them is James (Jessie Eisenberg) and Em (Kristen Stewart) who make some discoveries about love in the most unlikely of places. Also, there are some pretty priceless performances by Ryan Reynolds, Kristen Wiig, and Bill Hader which emphasize the indie, edgy, and weird vibe that this film gives off.

Why its steamy: The awkward moments are definitely not downplayed, but there is a lot of honesty which makes the intimate moments a bit more raw and realistic. Kristen Stewart’s character seems to be searching for something through sex. Although angsty, that is pretty entertaining to watch.

American Hustle – Disco Steamy

To sum it up: A star-studded cast tells the story of a desperate con man. The powers of love and manipulation are strong in this one.  If you haven’t seen this or it’s not on your movie list I’d suggest making it a priority. J-Law’s vibrant singing and cleaning scene is powerful and funny.

Why it’s steamy: Amy Adams character makes sure not to miss an opportunity for seduction and she somehow manages to make disco dancing sexy. That hasn’t been done since Saturday Night Fever. Plus, the costumes are smokin’ hot.

Dirty Dancing – just plain old steamy

To sum it up: You know what this is about! I’m just making sure you know how steamy it is.

Why it’s steamy: You mean for other reasons than Patrick Swayze in all black? There’s also Patrick Swayze shirtless. Oh yeah, and because dancing is basically vertical sex. I’ll be honest, this one’s for the girls.

Don Jon – in your face steamy

To sum it up: Joseph Gordon-Levitt wrote, starred, and directed this film where he plays a Jersey boy with a porn addiction. This is one you might not click play on unless you’re intrigued and specifically looking for something a bit risky. It comes across as a very entertaining study on what makes sex hot and it will definitely surprise you.

Why it’s steamy: Scarlett Johansson plays a vapid, bodacious Jersey Girl whose use of sexuality is mesmerizing, although definitely manipulative. And Julianne Moore shows up to break barriers of Don’s love life, so you definitely get to see a variety of sexual expression.

Also Noteworthy, Steamy Movies to Watch With Your Best Friend:

For A Good Time Call – Two girls start a phone sex line so they can keep their New York apartment. Things get interesting. <3

Ruby Sparks – about a writer who accidentally writes his perfect woman into existence. It brings up questions of control and dynamics in a relationship. And it’s just darling.

Pride and Prejudice – because it’s probably only steamy by lady standards, since, we as females, are especially attuned to subtle, Victorian-era acts of romance.
