Her Campus: Why did you choose Georgia College?
Sarah Herring: Honestly, I chose to transfer to Georgia College because it was the only school in which I applied and got accepted. I didn’t know what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go, but I knew I had a special opportunity here for a reason.
HC: Is there anything in particular you love about GC?
SH: I love the psychology department. The professors are some of the best people I have met here. I also love the small-town feel of Milledgeville as it reminds me of home. The ice cream bar at the MAX helps too.
HC: Why did you apply to be a Community Advisor?
SH: I applied to be a CA because I am passionate about making a difference in even just one person’s life. A mantra I live by is “Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody.” And that’s what I wanted to do.
HC: What do you enjoy about your job?
SH: I love seeing residents grow as individuals. I enjoy the unique opportunity I have in getting to know them on a personal level and ensuring that they have the best college experience possible.
HC: What do you hope to do after graduation?
SH: Moving back home isn’t the first thing people dream of doing when they graduate, but my heart longs to be close to my family in Tifton. I hope to find a job in which I can work with children while I figure out this thing called life.
HC: What makes you happy?
SH: Spending time with family and close friends, yoga, and being outside

Hobbies: Discovering new music, going to concerts, reading, yoga, making to-do lists, eating sweets, and traveling
Favorite memory at GC: My favorite memory at Georgia College is the ongoing lunch meetings I have every week with my two best friends. I will always treasure that precious time spent with them.
What animal would I be: I would be a cat, specifically my mom’s cat. I would get to lie around the house all day and over-eat and get love. I could do nine lives of that.
