I Thought it was Christmas in July, not July at Christmas?

If you’re from the South like me then you probably wake up every morning, like me, and check the weather to see what you’re supposed to wear. It would make sense that in November we would be able to assume that leggings, boots, scarves, and sweaters would be the way to go, but Georgia hasn’t complied to that stereotype recently. With temperatures fluctuating from 17 one week to 66 the next, it’s been hard to stay stylish this fall and not get sick from the constantly changing weather.

Sometimes I’ll walk around campus and I’ll see girls in Patagonia jackets, scarves, and head-warmers walking right next to a girl who looks perfectly comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt. What’s worse is waking up when it’s 31 degrees and coming home from class when it’s 68 degrees. It seems like the only real option here is: LAYERS. While walking around campus and various parts of the city this week, I snapped some pictures of some girls, who despite the weather, can rock styles that keep them warm and fashionable.

A night out in the fall doesn’t have to mean bulky layers that hude how cute you are. Here’s an example of girls using tights, scarves, and layered sweaters and jackets to create a cute, but warm, look for being out and about for the night.

These girls know that being out on campus means comfort and versatility. If your college is like ours, then it’s 40 degrees outside and 80 degrees in the buildings. The use of leggings with boots and removable vests and scarves making cooling off and warming back up again a snap.

Lyssa knows that this outfit can go seamlessly from cool mornings to warmer afternoons with the addition of a scarf or oversized cardigans. The basics of leggings, a piko top, and adorable booties are a great start.

To all my Southern ladies out there, (and the ones up North who are confused by our ridiculous weather) stay warm and stay cute!
