Finals are coming up and we are all stressed. If you are not, you’re either a liar, or just don’t realize that you have finals. With that being said, here are seven ways to relieve stress.

Go for a stroll with a friend or alone.

Nothing beats a nice walk with your close friend. Just take this time to get lost and explore your city. If you are taking this wondrous walk alone, take the time to think deeply about yourself and reflect on your semester.

Have a movie night.

Grab your blanket, grab your favorite snack food and pop in a movie! Looking a screen that does not a final paper on will give you such a sense of relief.

Have a dinner party with friends.

After that walk with your close friend, gather all of your other friends and have a dinner party. Have everyone bring a dish or ingredients to make a dish and have a cooking party. Food is fuel for the mind and the soul, so it’s a great idea to do before finals week.

Take a long nap.

Aww! Sleep. The one thing we need most, but abuse the most. This close to finals you might think, ‘Well, I don’t have time to sleep’. That’s why you are going to take a long nap. If you happen to completely fall asleep, that’s okay, but be sure to wake up at some point. You’ve been working hard and need a break, but you still have finals.

Breathe.

An absurd thing to say, breathe, but it is a powerful word. So often we forget to actually take a step back, assess the situation and breathe. Breathe deeply and keep moving.

Tell yourself everything is going to be okay.

Know that no matter how much you think this test or paper is going to ruin or greatly affect your life, it’s not. You’re still going to keep going and continue to be your awesome self. In the end everything will be okay. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.

Good luck with finals!
