Meet Kaylyn Lambertt: Real Madrid and Orgo? Story of Her Life!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Name: Kaylyn Lambertt

Year: Sophomore

Hometown: Coral Springs, Florida

Age: 20

Major: Exercise Science

Relationship Status: Single

Her Campus (HC): So, what’s been the highlight of your time as a Seminole so far?

Kaylyn Lambertt (KL): Definitely last fall when I studied abroad in Valencia, Spain.

HC: Tell us a funny story from your time studying abroad in Spain.

KL: Haha, there are so many! But one of my favorite moments was when we almost missed our flight to Mallorca for a weekend excursion. It was Halloween, so of course we all went out the night before. We didn’t get back to our apartment until 6:00 am, and our flight was at 8:45 am. Trying to get everyone up, packed, and out the door was a complete mess!

HC: Do you see yourself living in Spain in the future?

KL: Definitely! I fell in love with Valencia while I was there and I’d love to use my Exercise Science degree to eventually work as a physical therapist for the Real Madrid soccer team.

HC: How long have you been a Real Madrid fan?

KL: For about 2 years now. Being a fan has been really fun, especially when I got the chance to see them play in Spain at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

HC: What are the best and worst classes you’ve had to take for your major?

KL: The worst so far has been Organic Chemistry. The best has been Family Relationships and Life Development because it’s one of those classes that I can apply to everyday life. I use the stuff I learn in class to better understand why people do the things they do in the various roles and relationships that they play.

HC: Do you have any advice for anyone who’s thinking about majoring in Exercise Science?

KL: Hmm, my advice would be to really think about it first. If you’re in this major for the money, then you’re going to be absolutely miserable. The major is tough, but in the end it’ll be worth it if your end goal is to be able to have a major positive impact on someone’s life!

HC: Okay, time for the hard-hitting questions. You can only listen to one song for the rest of your life. Ignition (Remix) by R. Kelly or New Romantics by Taylor Swift?

KL: Oh god this is a hard one, but I’d have to say Ignition (Remix). It’s a classic throwback song to jam out to when I’m out with my friends.

HC: Which would you rather lose forever: your cellphone or your passport? Why?

KL: Definitely my cell phone. I love traveling and can’t imagine a world where I couldn’t travel.

HC: What is one thing on your bucket list?

KL: To complete the Camino de Santiago in Spain.

HC: What’s the most important non-academic thing you’ve learned during your time in college?

KL: I’ve learned that honestly, no one cares. Not in a bad way though! Since coming to college, everything I once thought was a big deal in high school isn’t anymore, and I’m free to do what I want without a care.
