Hm, how far away is graduation again? The real world? Jobs? Hate to break it to you, but your time is running out.

With no prior experience, you start searching for internship positions. They lead to jobs, right?

Ha! How hard could it be? After searching the listings, you find an opportunity. Time to prepare your resume and go in for your first interview!

So maybe you don’t get the internship of your dreams… it’s okay, girl. Let it out. There will be more opportunities.

You begin to seriously doubt your capabilities. You mean to tell me I wasn’t supposed to just party my way through college? Brush it off and hop back on the horse.

Look at that! Before you know it you have another interview lined up! This time you’re a little bit more prepared…

You got it! They want you! You call your parents to tell them the good news!

It’s the night before your first day and you can’t sleep. What if all you really do is get coffee for everyone??

Pushing your anxiety to the back of your mind, you throw on a pencil skirt and some flats. You’ll be fine. You’re ready to go out and make this internship your b*tch.

Welp. You know no one, you know nothing and you’re at the bottom of the totem pole, but hey, atleast you’ve got your foot in the door…

Finally, a supervisor comes over to show you the ropes, except you have no idea how the working world functions. Phones? Copy machines? Uh, help?

So you’ve yet to make friends, but that’s okay. There are a lot of people in this office. You can’t help but feel like a child. How does one network?

After a few weeks you start to get the hang of this whole internship thing. You’ve even made some friends, look at you!

As the semester comes to an end and it’s time for you to move on, you’re a little bummed. Never fear though, you’ve learned so much! You’ve made connections!

Hey working world, bring it on!

When she's not drowning in assigned readings, Sarah enjoys attempting to get celebrities to follow her on Twitter, daily Dunkin Donuts trips, praising Stevie Nicks, and (unsuccesfully) begging her boyfriend to buy her a kitten. Sarah hopes to one day put her witty banter to good use by writing for a clever yet underappreciated TV show, and eventually becoming the next Tina Fey.
