How to Care About Our Planet (Even After Earth Day)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

It’s important to stay mindful about how you affect the Earth, and not just on Earth Day! Have you ever wondered what more you could do to help keep the environment safe, but didn’t know how to contribute? Pilot’s Bottle-2-Pens has a solution. Carrington Kilgroe, an FSU student, explains, “From a survey Pilot conducted last Earth Day, we found that 80% of people felt guilty about drinking out of a plastic bottle, rather than using a reusable thermos, due to the waste that is created in landfills. Pilot’s B2P Gel ink pens and B2P Ball point pens are made from 89% and 86% recycled plastic bottles respectively. Pilot’s B2P pens write smoothly, have vibrant inks, and are 100% refillable, so you can have peace of mind knowing your product is helping the environment. “

What a fantastic solution! While Florida State has recycling bins on every corner of campus for us to fill up with our plastic bottles and aluminum cans, these Pilot pens are just another way Seminoles could do their part in minimizing human waste. For those who have summer internships or classes coming up, you know you won’t want to be stranded without a pen.

Pilot’s Bottle-to-Pens can be found in varying packs ranging in price from $6.49 to $7.81, and you can find them in any major office supply store. Or, you can visit their website here. Using these pens can be an easy way for everyone to do their part in saving the environment. They sell in stores all year so you can even buy them after Earth Day to celebrate our planet year-around! Kilgroe says, “They write just the same as your favorite Pilot pens, but now you can feel better knowing that you are recycling!”

So get out there and save the world, Collegiettes!
