The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) are known for playing some of the best college teams in the nation for their preseason, and they’re coming to Tallahassee! The Orlando Pride, Florida’s NWSL team, is home to many well-known national and international women’s soccer players from highly successful teams. This includes Marta (Brazil), Sydney Leroux (USWNT), Alex Morgan (USWNT) and Shelina Zadorsky (Canada) . . . just to name a few! But don’t forget, FSU also has their fair share of national and international superstars including Deyna Castellanos (Venezuela), Megan Connolly (Ireland), Gabby Carle (Canada) and Gloriana Villalobos (Costa Rica).

The Pride played FSU in April of last year in Orlando, earning a 3-0 preseason victory. With new additions to both the FSU and Pride rosters, we’re in for a show!

In this release, the Orlando Pride announced a game against Florida State on Feb. 28, 2018, at 6 p.m. in the Seminole Soccer Complex. The game is free and open to the public so I highly suggest that you get there early!

The Pride also have preseason games scheduled against the University of Central Florida (closed match) and the University of South Florida (tickets on sale now).

This preseason scrimmage will not count towards the seasons of either team but it is an amazing opportunity for both to play a fast-paced game while figuring out in what formation their teams function most efficiently. Preseason is where the teams will showcase their new players and lock down final strategies they’d like to take into the season ahead.

The spring scrimmage against the Orlando Pride is the only game scheduled for the Noles so far in 2018.
