Don’t Miss These Senior Sendoff Events!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Gone are the days of senior prom, yearbook signing and the excitement of moving away from home. Instead, college graduation calls for midweek panic attacks, graduation pictures at Westcott and unintentional excess amounts of eating and drinking. If you’re a senior, graduating either this spring, summer or fall, then you know all of those statements to be true. You most likely have your graduation dinner planned and are in the process of figuring out your life post-graduation. As for the rest of your time here in Tallahassee, here are some celebratory events that you definitely don’t want to miss out on.

Senior Toast

Taking place this Wednesday at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. is the annual Senior Toast. Whether you’re graduating in the spring, summer or fall, all 2018 Florida State University graduates are invited to attend. Light refreshments and drinks will be served–graduates aged 21+ will be banded, so make sure to bring your ID! Attendees will be given a commemorative champagne glass to officially toast in and the dress code is business casual/cocktail attire. Doors open at 5:00 pm.

So Long Social

For a less formal event than the FSU senior toast, Madison Social’s “So Long Social” will have slightly more drinking involved. The “So Long Social” takes place every Thursday before graduation (spring, summer, and fall) so if you’re not graduating right now. . . don’t worry, there will be two more of these events taking place this year! For the Spring graduates, this year’s social will be held May 3 from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. To participate, you must purchase a Professional Social Drinker t-shirt or tank top and wear it on May 3 for the event to receive two free drinks from Madison Social’s happy hour menu. Drink tickets can be redeemed at the host stand.

Nole Alumni Bar Crawl

In true College Town fashion, every celebration calls for a bar crawl, which is just one of the things we’ll miss about living in Tallahassee. New and current alumni are welcome to participate in the May 5 Nole Alumni Bar Crawl that includes both a select drink at Madison Social, Centrale and Township, as well as a commemorative glass from each location. While check-in begins at 7:00 p.m., you must check in and receive your bar crawl card before 9:00 p.m.; glassware must be redeemed by 11:00 p.m. at Township. In addition to the bar crawl ticket, there is a “parents only” ticket option which includes only the drinks and not the commemorative glassware. Alumni tickets are $30 and parent-only tickets are $20—both can be purchased here.

Now is the time to celebrate YOU, and both FSU and College Town have got your celebrations covered. Whether you want to keep it more low-key at the Senior Toast, get all the memorabilia you can at Madison Social or participate in all of the activities, there is something for each and every graduate alike. Seniors, you have made it this far and we are so proud of you. Go Noles!
