Strozier Speed Dating

February 12, 9:00pm, Strozier Starbucks

I know that this sounds like something out of The Eggplant, but trust me, it’s real. If you are currently without a Valentine, take a break from studying on Thursday at nine and go snag yourself a date! Maybe you’ll find the love of your life or maybe this will just be a much-needed chance for you and your wing women to de-stress and get to know some fellow ‘Noles. We’ve all seen those speed dating scenes in movies, and we’d be lying if we said we never wished we could try. So here’s your chance Collegiettes, go get ‘em! (Maybe you’ll even get a free latte out of it!)

Fred Astaire Dance Lessons

Before February 13, Fred Astaire Dance Studio, schedule an appointment!

Check out Groupon for an insane deal on an introductory couple’s dance lesson and practice party at Fred Astaire Dance Studio! There is nothing sexier than dancing with your man (or woman)—and I don’t mean that gyrating at the Strip that we’re used to. Take this opportunity to learn a thing or two from the professionals. This early V-Day date is sure to spark the romance. Then, put your new skills into practice on the 14th! (If you’re single and want to get your dance on, no problemo –you can be paired up!)

For the Love of Arts

February 14, 9:00am-5:00pm, Tallahassee Museum

The weather in Tallahassee on V-Day is supposed to be gorgeous, so throw on a sweater and head out to the Tallahassee Museum with your Valentine to enjoy a day full of visual and performing arts. There will be live music outside and inside as well as lots of local art on display. The event is FREE and includes love-themed crafts, historic information, and food! You will even have a chance to check out the museum’s live animal exhibits featuring live wolves and bears and bobcats, oh my!

February 14, 10:00am-12:00pm, Challenger Learning Center

This is definitely one of the most unique date ideas we’ve stumbled upon. Put your teamwork skills to the test and fly a simulated space mission with your partner (or go with friends)! What on Earth could be cooler than going to Mars with your Valentine? Tickets will be buy-one-get-one free for this holiday, costing you only $15! To go to Mars! That’s a fraction of gas money to go home!  Register now! Be sure to check out the planetarium while you’re there. Come on, what is more romantic than stargazing at 2 in the afternoon? It will be out-of-this-world!
