3 Cat Instagram Accounts You Should Follow Right Now

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

Collegiettes, I was the first to question why people EVER thought it was a good idea to make social media accounts for their pets (A.K.A. things that do not have opposable thumbs and therefore cannot operate a computer or mobile device).  However, after discovering Cats of Instagram, I will have to say that my opinion has changed.

In case you don’t know, Cats of Instagram is an Instagram account that features cats from around the world, with a strikingly adorable picture and a brief tidbit about the kitty along with (thank goodness) a link to the cat’s Instagram account.

Of course, being the weirdo that I am, I follow all of my favorite felines and look forward to new postings.  Here are a few cats that you might want to follow too:

1.) Bo:

First off, Bo is a Bengal cat.  In case you don’t know what those are, they’re basically mini, domesticated cheetahs; and even if you’re not into cats, that’s pretty awesome.  Bo is an adorable fella who is surely not camera shy. You can find all of Bo’s pictures here.

How we can relate to Bo:

Bo understands that we all need a little pampering now and then.  Whether it’s taking a relaxing bath or getting a manicure, Bo encourages us all to just relax.

Bo also knows how much girls love their shoes, and his shoe (and sock) collection is pretty impressive!

A pro when it comes to indulgences, Bo also reminds us that it’s ok to enjoy our favorite treats every now and then too.

2.) Ladybug

With possibly one of the cutest faces I have ever seen, it’s no wonder Ladybug has almost 5K followers on her Instagram account.  I mean LOOK AT THIS FACE:

I just want to give her as many Sour Patch kids as she wants.

How we can relate to Ladybug:

Ladybug knows exactly how we feel when we accidentally open up the front camera on our phones:

As you can tell, she is also familiar with the phrase “I woke up like this.”

Ladybug also understands the struggle of easily getting distracted by little things that keep us from doing anything productive (which could be why you’re reading this article in the first place).

3.) Cheeto:

Cheeto is what we might call the Kendall Jenner of the cat world: trendy, chic, and looks great in black-and-white. She’s an oh-so-fabulous cat who’s not afraid to be normal every now and then, making us common-folk feel a little better.

How we can relate to Cheeto:

Cheeto has seemed to have bought into the music festival culture.  Good thing she looks fab in a flower crown!

As you’ve probably already guessed, Cheeto has a knack for high fashion.  She shows off her bold style with these fabulous spikes, which is a hardcore look we all wish we could rock.

Despite all of her photo shoots that call for her to remain in tip-top shape, Cheeto never forgets her love for something that we can all relate to: pizza.

I’m not going to lie, seeing cute kitties all over my Instagram feed is my favorite when it comes to checking the social media accounts. Sorry, but I could care less what you had for dinner or what you ordered at Starbucks. Sure, pet Instagrams may seem a little strange, but hey, I’m all for it.
