What to Do if You Don’t Like Thanksgiving

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Framingham chapter.

Not everyone is thrilled to celebrate Thanksgiving. You may not like the history behind the day, might not want to travel to see relatives you don’t even like, or you may not like the idea of eating so much food (that you might not even like). So, if you don’t like Thanksgiving or don’t celebrate it, here are some ideas on what to do with the Thursday off instead!

Movie Marathon

It can be your favorite trilogy, holiday movies, or a bunch of movies with your favorite actor! It’s the perfect relaxing day!

Plan your holiday shopping

You can devote the day to your Black Friday shopping game plan. Or if you’re not a fan of Black Friday, you can put together gifts you’d like to get friends and family this holiday season!

Cook something new (that isn’t typical Thanksgiving food)

Just because you don’t have a traditional Thanksgiving turkey and sides doesn’t mean you don’t have to eat! Try a new recipe you’ve been saving on Pinterest

Start a new TV show

Now that you have (at least four days off) and (hopefully) do not have to worry about school work for the break, you can catch up on a new Netflix series instead of rewatching the same season of The Office again.

Crafting

You now have a whole day to craft whatever you’ve been wanting to try! It’s relaxing and productive! If you’re not that crafty but what to put together something, puzzles are also a great way to wind down.
