Senior Year, Graduating, and Accomplishments with Amber Hoy

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Framingham chapter.

Amber Hoy is a bubbly ball of energy, who you might see around the dining hall for her internship. Or maybe you’ve heard her on the radio last year. Or maybe you’ve sweat it out in Zumba together. Amber is experiencing her last semester here, so I wanted to sit down and get some of her final thoughts.

Major: Communication Arts

Minor: Marketing

Year: 2017

Hometown: Milford, MA

Campus Involvement: DJ for WDJM, Communications Intern for Dining Services

What’s the best thing you’ve learned from working at dining services?

There’s much more to dining services to putting food on a plate. There are a lot of people behind the scenes that make sure students have a happy and healthy environment.

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be and why?

This is a hard question! I’ve always wanted to visit Italy because my entire family is Italian and I’ve always wanted to learn about the culture of Italy. I’d love to visit the wineries! I love wine, cheese, and pasta!

Favorite tv show?

I’m not the biggest tv fan, but I’ve got sucked into the world of Grey’s Autonomy and sometimes I think I’m a doctor.

What advice do you have for rising seniors?

I know it’s scary to think about the future after graduation, but try to enjoy every single second of your senior year. Senioritis can be tough but make sure you finish off strong!

What’s your dream job?

I would love to start my own marketing firm in Boston! I plan on getting my MBA and then from there start to create my own business.

How do you like to spend your free time?

To be honest, I just relax! I feel like I’m so busy during the week so when I do have free time I like to read a book or just relax with some friends.

Who inspires you the most?

My mom, definitely. She was a single mom raising me for most of her life and she’s taught me everything I know. She’s my biggest supporter. She’s always told me to reach for the stars and that’s what I’ve been trying to do.

What are you most excited about after graduating?

Moving in with my girlfriend after graduation and starting a career in the marketing field!

Looking back, what are some of your favorite accomplishments you’ve made here?

Well just last week I made the presidents list and I was not expecting that! Also, transferring here was a huge step for me. It was nerve-wracking but I’m proud of myself for starting fresh in a new place.

Graduate from Framingham State University. Communication Arts major, and Writing minor. Former Co-Campus Correspondent of HC Framingham and current After College writer! I'm passionate about tv shows, comedy, music, and cheese fries and take them all very seriously.
