5 Things You May Have Felt During the Long Weekend if You Stayed on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Framingham chapter.

1. Loneliness

Since I was one of the only people on campus this weekend while all of my friends went home, I did feel pretty lonely. It was hard just coming home from work, going to bed and doing it all over again when I didn’t get to see any of my close friends.

2. Peacefulness

It was pretty quiet on campus and it was raining for most of this weekend, so it was pretty peaceful for that to be the only sound that I heard coming through my window. It was also nice to relax at the end of the day knowing I would not have any homework due until later in the week and not right away on Monday.

3. FOMO

While most people were home or away for the long weekend, I was scheduled to work. I know I missed out on a lot of events that happened this weekend, but my car is not on campus anyway, so I’m basically stuck here until Thanksgiving break.

4. Determined

I know I did miss out on so many things happening, but I was still determined to make this weekend better. I worked hard at my jobs to distract myself. My mom and my nana also planned a visit for Monday which made me lifted my spirits and made me determined to get through my work days.

5. Restlessness

Once I got home from work each night, I felt restless like I had to do something or go somewhere. I feel like these feelings stemmed from the FOMO that I was also feeling. I felt stuck on campus and in a routine of going to work that I wanted to break.
