Valentines Day to a Single Girl (Bridesmaid’s Edition)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fordham chapter.

For a single girl, February 14 is not Valentine’s Day, but better known as National SAD day (Single Awareness Day),

because for an entire day, you have to think about the fact that you’re alone.

Everything that is normally adorable and joyful, is significantly less cute and even a little spiteful on Valentine’s Day for a single girl,

especially anything heart shaped or pink.

We try to be happy for our friends in relationships,

but our inner single girl seems to take over,

and you just don’t care about the fact that your friend has reservations at the most romantic place in town.

Or the fact that she is the “perfect girlfriend and always giving him exactly what he wants on Valentine’s Day!”

We could stay in with our other single girlfriends, and pretend we don’t care about this holiday,

or go out to dinner with our other single friend, but are hesitant at what people might think.

But thankfully, V-Day is on a Friday this year,

which means wine is our new valentine!

But it also means we’re probably going to be end up being really honest with ourselves.

Like, really honest.

By the end of the night, you’ve forgotten all about this irrelevant holiday,

and are pretty proud of yourself for not throwing a pity party.

And on February 15th, single girls everywhere rejoice because we have survived the most evil holiday ever created!

So good riddens,Valentine’s Day! Until next year…..
