It’s safe to say that for most of us at Fordham, studying abroad is part of our college plan. But even with a study abroad plan in the works (or behind you), when Spring begins to peak through the clouds, the travel itch starts, and dreaming about an epic Euro-trip or an Australian adventure becomes a daily distraction when struggling through our oh-so-boring lectures. But planning a trip abroad can be scary, time consuming, and let's not forget--super expensive. Lucky for us, Her Campus has partnered with Contiki, the #1 travel company for young people, offering over 200 guided tours and pre-planned trips in 40+ countries, exclusively for 18-35-year-olds—all for amazingly low prices!...

By Nancy Buckley
December 15, 2011 - 8:07pm

This is my final blog entry for my semester abroad and as my semester comes to a conclusion I cannot help but reflect back on the past three and a half months.  I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by here, I feel like just yesterday I was packing in my room at home stressing about putting four months of my life in two suitcases and currently I am panicked about putting those four months worth of stuff and souvenirs back in my luggage. Dear Betty: Breaking Up is Hard to Do

By Dear Betty
December 10, 2011 - 11:29pm

Dear Betty, I've been out with this guy for a couple times, but I'm not just feeling it. The problem is, he thinks we're on the road to being Facebook official. He's a nice guy, but I don't know how to let him down gently.  It's Not Me, It's You

HC Fordham Abroad: A Very Irish Thanksgiving

By Nancy Buckley
November 30, 2011 - 1:12am

When I tell people that I am studying in Dublin for the semester the common response has been, “Have you ever met a mean Irish person?” This, I have learned, is a rhetorical question.  No, I have not. The Irish poet, W.B. Yeats once said “There are no strangers here; only friends you haven’t met yet.” This week I experienced the perfect example of the pure friendliness that Irish people typically have. READ MORE

Dear Betty, My roomate is pretty messy and doesn't really help with any of the room chores. We live in a double, it's a tight space and I'm always the one doing all the cleaning. I'm fine with her being messy I just don't know how to get her to start helping out a little with the cleaning. Any advice? Cinderella

HC Fordham Abroad: Food Glorious Food

By Nancy Buckley
November 15, 2011 - 11:56pm

I love to eat.  I mean who doesn’t? But, I love to really eat, like more than three meals in a day, always a dessert, new foods, etc.  So, naturally being in Europe is a dream come true, and I eat all the time. Irish people are not necessarily known for their food, but yet I have found some excellent options, and when travelling, I pretty much just eat my way through each foreign city. Some food options that I wish was more prevalent in the U.S. include: READ MORE

Dear Betty: My Roommate is Being Obnoxious

By Dear Betty
November 8, 2011 - 11:07pm

Dear Betty, My roommate goes to bed at awkward times such as very early in the evening and turns the light off. She hides under the covers and pretends to sleep but in reality she's texting. This forces me and my other roommate sneak around the room quietly to accommodate her "sleep" needs. How do I fix this situation? I don't want to be rude and tell her she can't sleep, but I don't want to be obnoxious and turn the lights and go about as if she wasn't there. Sincerely, Frustrated Freshman Dear Frustrated, READ MORE
