We are always on the lookout for National Pizza Day, Ice Cream Day and especially National Puppy Day; But one of the most important national days that we seem to overlook is National Equal Pay Day. The holiday was created in 1996 to shed light on the gap in pay between men and women, and the . Every year in April a day is set aside in hopes of making more people aware of the matter that affects women globally.
Why April? Because that is how long a woman needs to work into the year to make equivalent to what a man earns. One can only hope that as world continues to evolve, this holiday will come earlier and earlier into the year until one day it doesn’t. But for right now we shall continue to recognize this holiday and work towards a better tomorrow.
