The 11 Emotional Struggles of Eating in Barone

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fairfield chapter.

We all know that college cafeterias aren’t your typical, elite five star restaurants. But Barone…well Barone is not one to qualify either. What Barone does offer is the daily struggle of embarrassment, anxiety and a whole lot questionable buffalo chicken.

1. Realizing you’re the center of attention when you drop your plate on the floor

2. Burning your toast/ bagel enough times to cause world hunger

3. Walking into Barone and making eye contact with someone you’ve been avoiding

4.  Having to give a sh** about how you look

5.  But, not actually giving a sh**

6. Reading your friends text as you go to meet them in Barone, which reads: “We are sitting on the left table, near the table next to the window, across from the table near the door.”

7. Realizing that someone must be keeping count on how many trips you’ve made to get food

8. Cutting everyone in the deli line, just because you think you can

9. Attempting to have the will power to not get ice cream every single day of the week

10. Feeling like America’s Top Chef when you’re making your stir fry

…until you taste it

11. Appreciating how incredible mom’s cooking is while sitting in Barone
