There’s nothing like a little rock ‘n roll to heal the soul, right? With only about a month of school left for most of you, life gets very stressful. A tried and true way to get yourself through it? Music. Whether you’re heading to the library, working out, or just relaxing in your room, a handful of old classics can help motivate you to get things done! It has also been proven that music exercises the left and right parts of your brain simultaneously, which aids in increasing its ability to retain and process information. Here are some of my all-time favorites.

1.     “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC

Let’s face it, everyone feels like a badass while listening to this.

2.     “Paradise City” by Guns N Roses

Always a great song to get pumped up for the summer.

3.     “Start Me Up” by The Rolling Stones

Fun fact: my brother sang this for his talent show in high school, which is how I discovered it.

4.     “Black Dog” by Led Zeppelin

Pretty much everyone has heard this song, and you’ve got to admit it just makes you want to get up and dance. That guitar riff though.

5.     “Misty Mountain Hop” by Led Zeppelin

Not as well-known as Black Dog, but an insanely catchy song.

6.     “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes

Another song that everyone has probably heard, and usually one of every guitar player’s first songs learned.

7.     “Dude (Looks Like a Lady)” by Aerosmith

A super catchy tune, and will forever remind me of Mrs. Doubtfire.

8.     “American Woman” by The Guess Who

Yes, we will mess your mind.

9.     “My Sharona” by The Knack

A one-hit wonder, but a great song with a good beat.

10.  “Kickstart My Heart” by Motley Crue

One of those songs that makes you want to drive with the windows down at 90 mph.

If you haven’t heard any of these, check them out! You may consider some of them playlist worthy.
