It’s that time of the year when deadlines are looming, stress levels are rising and you find yourself gazing into the confectionary aisle searching for something to take away the deadline despair. Have no fear, as there are other (healthier) ways to deal with stress: excercise! Get those endorphins pumping with our 5 best stress busting exercises!

1. Yoga

A cliche but a true one. Yoga is all about gentle excercise, deep breathing and taking some time out to calm down your tired brain. Depending on what you like, you could go for a blissful vinyasa yoga all about relaxation, or get some cardio in with a bit of ashtanga!

2. Boxing

What is better than letting all of your frustration out with a strong right hook? This is the perfect excercise to release all of the pent up frustration of stress and get out of your head for a while. It is also great for your mental health because it leaves you feeling super badass and motivated for the day!

3. Running!

Take some inspiration from the chick flicks and run off your irritations. If you prefer someone to chat and run with, then grab a friend and run off your stress together. There is nothing like that post-run shower to seriously relax a stressed student!

4. Spinning

Spin is a marmite excercise – some people love it and some people hate it, but there is no denying it can distract you from university stress. Get on that bike and imagine yourself pedalling away from all the deadlines and you’ll feel much better, I promise!

5. Dance!

Whether it’s Zumba or Bollywood dance, let your hair down and throw some shapes! This one is a tried and tested mood booster, and you can even do it in the comfort of your own bedroom!
