Sick and tired of eating at the DUC? Or even need a new recipe for your home kitchen? Honestly, it is time for you to try some kale.

If you haven’t already been hooked, I think you surely will be. Kale, a bitter green vegetable, is actually filled with amazing nutrients, antioxidants and is not even fattening.

But wait, are you scared of the way this leafy green vegetable will taste? No need to fear. There are many options for you. Believe it or not, kale can be consumed in all different ways. Kale is used in salads, pastas, and even soups. But also, kale can be added to dishes like omelets and surprisingly to desserts like cake and ice cream!

And it only gets better… ever heard of a kale smoothie? Yup, that’s right. Kale in a smoothie is the newest craze and obsession of many. They are refreshing, delicious and easy to make! In addition, they can be your breakfast, lunch or even snack!

If you are interested in making your own, below is a recipe that looks just amazing:

The Tropical Kale Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

½ cup mango

             ½ cup pineapple

              ½ cup coconut water

              2 teaspoons hemp seeds

              2 teaspoons lime juice

              ¼ cup ice

              1 cup kale

Directions

Place all ingredients in a blender and purée until smooth.

Not a chef? Don’t worry. Great news… Atlanta is home to the place that knows exactly how large and great this craze is. Kale Me Crazy opened in the summer of 2013 in essence due to lack of local all-organic places to eat.

So, what should you get at Kale Me Crazy? Well, the choices are endless. They have pressed juices, smoothies, “shots”, salads, wraps and even acai bowls. The smoothies have different “benefits” including energizer, revival, and glow.

If none of these options are of interest, kale can even be eaten in the form of chips. Kale chips are increasingly popular and can be seasoned to all of your likings! You can make them yourself or buy them in supermarkets and local stores.

While to outsiders kale may seem like a fad, it is here to stay. The benefits are never ending, with studies showing that kale can even reduce cancer and improve cardiovascular support.

So, give it a try. Be open minded, tasteful and crazy for kale. It’s kinda killer.
